Are you looking for great fall fruit gifts? Whether you need a hostess gift, a care package, or a back-to-school gift, fruit is always a great option. Now that the growing season is coming to a close, packaging up the season’s best into a nice gift is the way to go. Here are some of our favorite ideas:
Baked Goods
One of the best things about fruit is how delicious it tastes in
baked goods. Besides, nothing quite says autumn like a warm slice of apple pie or a generous helping of
pumpkin cheesecake! Since most people don’t have the time to bake, gifting treats like muffins, tarts, and pies will be most appreciated. Fruit also makes an excellent topping for classic desserts, such as cheesecake and cupcakes. You can either give them the
fully baked treat or a kit with everything they need so they can make their own.
Fruit Gift Baskets
The nice thing about gift baskets is how versatile they are. You can create a basket with any theme, and you can put anything you want in them. No matter whom the basket is for,
fruit is always a welcome choice. For instance, a common gift for this time of year is to send college kids off to school with thoughtful
care packages. While it’s nice to put crunchy snack foods and candy in these care packages, a few fruit-themed items are also a good addition.
Jams and Jellies
If you’ve never tasted jam or jelly made from ripe, in-season fruit, you’re missing out! For centuries, making jams, jellies, and preserves was a necessity because it helped preserve the fruit before refrigeration. When made with in-season, peak fruit, it tastes even better! They also make great gifts. If you don’t have time to make your own, there are plenty of delicious, gourmet options available.
Fruit Wine
Even though the majority of the world’s
wine is made from grapes, fruits such as cranberries, strawberries, and apples also make delicious wines! The process of making these wines is very similar to the standard grape-based wines. The fruit is washed and picked, and then pressed so that all the juices are extracted. It usually takes several months for the juice to ferment and fully develop into wine. Since these wines are fairly unique, they make excellent gifts!
Chocolate Covered Fruit
Chocolate-based fruit treats, such as
chocolate-covered strawberries, are a popular choice for gift giving. They’re luxurious and still somewhat healthy, so people feel like they are indulging without all of the guilt. Even though chocolate-dipped strawberries are the most popular choice, you can dunk any type of fruit that you want into chocolate, even dried fruit. For variety, you can also use any type of chocolate you want, such as milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate. Just melt the chocolate for about twenty seconds in the microwave, dunk the fruit in the chocolate, and let cool on sheets of waxed or parchment paper.
When you need to find a
fall gift basket try giving one of these fruit-based choices or fruit baskets a whirl!
