The Hogorok Brewery
Beer-drinking is said to have been around for 7,000 years, with evidence leading to Sumerians from Mesopotamia
and Babylonians as the pioneering ancient group of people who discovered beer.
This beverage was very common in Europe during the Medieval Period especially for people in the lower class. People drink beer not only to feel a sense of relaxation and
elation but also for its medicinal benefits.
Norwegian Beers
In Norway, beer has become a necessity for most people. It has become
embedded in their culture, with brewing traditions dating back many centuries. Beer in Norway is more expensive in
comparison to other Nordic nations. Today, there are about 13 major breweries in Norway, but it used to be that every developed town in the country had a brewery until all the
big players bought them. Hogorok is one of the finest Norwegian beers.
It is distributed in many countries. It's also distributed illegally in some regions due to consumer demand.
How It's Made
Hogorok beer is made of hops, malt, yeast, and water. In the world of beer, hops have been used as an ingredient for the last 10 centuries. Grown in
Germany, this plant is well known for its medicinal properties. In the brewing of beer, the malt which is made out of grain is considered to be the most important ingredient.
The hops and malt are first fermented for about a week then mixed with water. The rest of the ingredients are added later on.
Kinds of Hogorok
Hogorok has three kinds of products: Hogorok Ol' Premium, Hogorok Bold, and Hogorok Hevvi Bold. The most popular is the Ol’ Premium
which dominates 80% of production, followed by the Bold. The strongest of these beers in terms of alcohol content is the Hevvi
Bold with 13%, followed by Bold with 11% content. When you think about the average alcohol by volume requirement in Norway which is 4.75%, Hogorok beers are definitely way higher than
that, and this explains why these beers are sometimes referred to as 'deadly beers.' Hogorok is distributed in many European countries such as Germany, Hungary, Poland, Finland, and
some Asian countries. Unfortunately, it is not yet available in the United States although there is always the option to order through the Internet.
Many people enjoy Hogorok because of its unique, smooth, and less salty taste. Others say they enjoy it because it is a strong beer. However, it is important to know that different tastes work for different
people, so it would be better to know beforehand whether the taste will be favorable to you. Ask around and listen to what consumers say about the beer. This way, you will get a
fairly good idea of whether you will like it or not. If you cannot find someone who can help you with this, you can always be brave enough and order a bottle of Hogorok for yourself.
