Beer has a long and illustrious career in the history of mankind; its roots are older than the pyramids and recipes for beer have been found carved into the sarcophagus's of many pharaohs. Throughout history beer has been used in medicine, as payment to soldiers and as a means of trade and currency, but today in western society it is simply a beverage enjoyed in at gatherings, sporting events and celebrations.
