Bracelets For Friends

There are many reasons why a friendship bracelet makes for a simple, perfect gift. First, the materials used to make a friendship bracelet are fairly inexpensive and easy to find. Second, each friendship bracelet carries its own unique design and style. In addition, a friendship bracelet is a particularly meaningful gift because it takes time, effort, and creativity to construct. Finally, a friendship bracelet is a colorful, original gift made with a special friend in mind. A well-made friendship bracelet is an attractive gift sure to be appreciated by any true friend. 

Step One

-The first step is to locate a few necessary materials. First, find four pieces of embroidery thread that each measure twenty-four inches in length. Try choosing four of your friend's favorite colors. Next, find a two-inch long piece of clear tape and put it aside.

Step Two

-Gather all of the embroidery threads in one hand and hold them so the ends of all four threads line up evenly together. Make a knot approximately two inches down from the end of all four threads. 

Step Three

-Now, fasten the piece of clear tape to the table just above the knot in the embroidery threads. The piece of tape will keep the threads secure during the remaining construction of the bracelet. Spread the four embroidery threads apart on the table. The thread on the far left is thread number one; the next one over is thread number two and so on. Keep in mind the number assigned to each thread.

Step Four

-Pull thread number two down, making it taut and loop thread number one around it. Then, pull thread number one upward through the loop making a knot just underneath the main knot that is holding all four threads together. Repeat this step, which will result in another knot just beneath the previous one. Use thread number one to make a double knot around threads number three and four.

Step Five

-Take thread number two and begin making double knots with threads one, three, and four. Keep making double knots until the bracelet will circle around a friend's wrist. Finally, knot the four loose ends of the bracelet together and cut any unnecessary thread length off with scissors. Now the bracelet is ready for a special friend to wear proudly!
