We at GourmetGiftBaskets.com know that for some people, spice is the only thing that matters when it comes to eating! The hotter the better, they say (which is why we’ve created a few different HOT gift baskets over the years. But every tongue has its limits. How much heat can you really handle before you crack? Think you could make it through these spicy snacks?

Can You Handle The Heat?

Flamin’ Hot Cheetos

Thrillist calls Flamin’ Hot Cheetos the ” The undisputed lord of all spicy snacks…” Flamin’ Hot Cheetos are banned in schools in not one, not two, but FOUR states. Sorry Massachusetts, New York, California, and New Mexico students! Apparently one 12-year-old had to go to the ER after eating 20-30 bags in a month because the super hot snacks were upsetting the pH balance of his stomach and causing some serious pain!

Bokun Habanero

Leave it to Japan to grace the world with another weird and crazy hot snack! Bokun Habanero is translates to “Tyrant Habanero.” Apparently “regular” spicy hot isn’t enough, so the company actually released a version of Bokun Habanero that is 10x spicier! The extra spicy flavoring called Bokun Habanero – Habamori came in its own packet so snackers could control exactly how spicy they wanted it. The snack rings also have serrated edges to hold onto more of the heat! The company warns snackers that, due to the strength of the powder, they should “take sufficient care not to get any in your eyes or nose.”

The Four Horseman Burger

The Four Horseman Burger contains four of the spiciest peppers on Earth: jalapeno, Serrano, habanero, and Bhut Jolokia (aka Ghost Pepper which has been ranked the world’s hottest chili pepper, 401.5 times hotter than Tabasco sauce). Of course, finishing this burger is a Texas-sized challenge, so patrons have to eat it in under 25 minutes (after signing a waiver) AND last another five minutes without drinking or puking in order to win. This burger is so hot they even offer gloves to competitors to prevent spice burns.

Pepper Palace Hottest Sauce in the Universe

Forty pounds of Ghost Peppers go into every batch of this hot sauce, which The Daily Mail places second only to pure capsaicin itself. According to Pepper Palace, their hot sauce contains 3.5 million Scoville units (a bell pepper as 0 and a serrano pepper is in the 10k-23k range for scale), making it 700 times spicier than Tabasco.

Art’s & Mary’s: Hot ‘N Zesty Jalapeño Home Style Tater Chips

Esquire voted these their favorite spicy chip, saying “Art’s & Mary’s had all the right components for a spicy chip. It had just the right amount of spicy to where we weren’t begging for water, but we got that kick we were looking for – one that doesn’t make you cough but makes your lips tingle.
