Easy 4th of July Appetizer

If you plan on attending a 4th of July party, chances are good that you’ll need to put together some sort of crowd-pleasing dish. We suggest offering to make an appetizer, then heading to the grocery store (or simply raiding your pantry) for a few simple ingredients to make this easy 4th of July appetizer.

What You Need

Long toothpicks or looped bamboo skewers
2 cans of California ripe olives
16 oz. mozzarella ciliegine
6 oz. Italian dry salami, sliced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp fresh oregano, chopped

July 4th Antipasto Skewers

Just before your soiree, add olives, mozzarella, oil, and oregano in large bowl and gently mix until evenly combined. Take a toothpick and add a piece of salami to it (if the salami slices are large in diameter, feel free to fold it in quarters like we did). Then skewer the mozzarella, finish with an olive, and repeat for some delicious red, white, and blue hors d’oeuvres. Okay – so maybe not completely obvious red, white, and blue hors d’oeuvres,  but in the middle of summer, we think there’s something pretty fantastic about a sophisticated snack that requires little more than 10 minutes and (perhaps more importantly) no oven! The perfect appetizer for your 4th of July party.

Easy 4th of July Sweet Treats

As an added bonus, Belgian chocolate covered strawberries, Oreos®, or cake pops decorated with a 4th of July party theme make the perfect happy ending sweat treat. Just melt & dip your favorites then cool them down in the refrigerator. Or order some chocolate covered delights online and have them shipped right to your door!
